Funnies

So, we have a 'no sarcasm--no laughing' rule at our house right now due to the intense pain it causes. And it has been broken several times. Just thought I'd share a couple...

The kids came to see baby Annie in the hospital as soon as I got a room after the c-section, so I still had IV's, catheter, etc hooked up. So of course the boys had 101+ questions about everything and concerned about if it hurt. They were pretty reserved about all of it (being the super tough boys that they are with pain), until Max got to the foley catheter. I explained that it was how I went to the bathroom, and his face lit up and said, "Mom! I wish I could have a baby so I could pee in that tube!" Yah...that gut laugh hurt the incision.

Then we're just chillin' at home, once again explaining my incision and why I can't move.
Max: "It still looks like there's a baby in your belly."
Me: "I know, but it's not a baby...it's just...stuff."
Max: "What kind of stuff?"
(Before I can respond...)
Max: (completely serious) "Oh, just, like toys for the baby to play with?"
Me: (Again rupturing sutures due to gut laugh...) "Yah...they're just gonna pop right out."

Kids are so funny. My favorites from Eden lately are...in her little sing-song munchkin voice, "Na-na-na-na-boo-boo...you can't catch me"
And when she's swinging her hips, I ask her what she's doing and she responds, "I'm shakin my bootie!"
