Dedicated to Caleb

Our little Caleb had to give a talk in Primary today about praying to Heavenly Father. And me, being the organized, on top of everything mother that I am, completely spaced it until Saturday night when we were getting the kids in bed. Nevertheless, with our last minute preparation and run-through this morning, he stood up there and sang in the microphone, accapella, "I kneel to pray every day, I speak to Heavenly Father. He hears and answers me when I pray in faith........."(I can't remember the title). Then Mike repeated the whole song a phrase at a time and Caleb added his personal bit at the end of each phrase. We were pretty proud of him.

He has been such a sweet boy today...I need to document it so I can refer back to it on the not-so-good days. :) He got a little bag of treats after Primary and Max was complaining that he wanted it...and Caleb gave it to him right away!! (In case any of you forgot, Caleb is the MAJOR sweet tooth of the family...that move was huge!!) But he kept going...for dinner we got out the "You are Special" plate and cup for Caleb, and Max again was whining that he wanted it, and Caleb immediately said, "Here Max, you can have it today. I'll have it tomorrow." WOW...I think my jaw hit the floor. Besides that he has been talking and cooing to Eden to keep her happy and cleaning up all the games they played downstairs. They must have had a very meaningful lesson in primary today about being a peacemaker at home. :)

To back track a bit, I keep forgetting to share this funny:
While we were hanging out at Mike's parent's house in Utah, Bart and Bridgette, (but to Caleb it was some girl and boy he didn't know) walked in and said, "We just came to get the pails." They walked out into the garage and came back in with these empty buckets and Caleb, with this intent look on his face leaned over and asked, "Is that Jack and Jill?" Isn't it amazing what goes on in their little heads?! After all, they were coming to fetch a pail.

On a crazy note:
Our dear little Caleb swallowed a hearing aide battery at the end of our trip to Utah! Yup...had to make a good 'ole ER trip to make sure it wasn't lodged in the esophagus where the acid could eat a hole. Thankfully it had already gone into the small intestine....and guess what I had to do for the next 4 days?! GROSS!! But at least it came out and we didn't have to retrieve it through other means. He has this terrible habit of putting things in his mouth, so now, if I ever catch him with an object in his mouth, he has to pay me a dollar. If there are any other suggestions on how to rid him of this habit, I'm all ears.

More later.

I don't know why, but this boy has my heart wrapped around his finger! Thanks for posting these things. I will copy them and put it in our journal. He is the sweetest boy in his heart, but sometimes his body wins! I love Caleb!

What a good boy! It seems like something just switches in these little ones and they are so good. I hope it continues until he's married :) !! I cracked up at his Jack and Jill comment. Makes sense to me. Can't wait to hear more!
P.S. Way-to-go Caleb, on his talk. Sounds so cute!!

Little boys are so much fun! I love reading about what is going on in your life. For a while I thought you had disappeared. It is good to know that all is well with you and your little family.

Well I must say for being a last minute talk you guys did an amazing job. Very creative and everyone enjoyed the talk.

I love the part about him being a peacemaker. You will have to tell his primary teacher, she would be pleased to hear he is practicing what is taught.

Handsome guy, are you sure he isn't mellow all the time. Look at that angel face.
